Friendly Bench
The Friendly Bench is a network of innovative kerbside social spaces designed to connect people, places, and nature. These serve as more than just seating areas; they foster community spirit, reduce social isolation, and encourage outdoor interaction.,
Our bench was proudly installed in 2021, thanks to an invitation to apply for funding generously provided by the National Lottery. This funding fully covered the cost of the bench’s purchase and installation, making it possible for us to bring this valuable addition to Brandon.
The outdoor spaces created by The Friendly Bench are designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible for everyone.
They provide a safe and inviting place for people to meet, engage in conversation, or simply rest while enjoying their surroundings.

The Friendly Bench is designed to be accessible to everyone

Our bench was installed back in 2021
Our bench is situated on a plot of land we adopted from Suffolk Highways back in 2015, located near The Brandon Centre.
Adding to the natural beauty of the site, we have two small Malus Tschonoskii trees, which were sponsored as part of our efforts to enhance the area’s greenery.
The bench was carefully positioned to fit perfectly between these two trees, creating a peaceful environment for all to enjoy. This project enriches the local landscape and offers a space where anyone can come together and connect.
